GM to explore advanced natural gas engine technology

GM to explore advanced natural gas engine technology
"Hybridization, lower-displacement with turbo charging, direct injection and other fuel-saving technologies now being applied to gasoline and diesel engines, can also be applied to natural gas fueled engines for even greater improvements in efficiency and fuel cost savings," said John Lapetz, Westport’s light-duty division managing director, North American Vehicle Programs.

Under the agreement announced Tuesday between the two companies, Westport and GM will blend their expertise to develop controls, emissions and performance strategies for light-duty vehicles. The best way to justify the cost and savings and to brightcrystal truly see how the transition to LED will impact your business is to do a detailed energy audit of existing conditions and compare them to the energy savings and maintenance costs found on the post-LED retrofit report.

“We are excited to work with GM and invest in advanced natural gas technology for the automotive market,” said Ian Scott, president of Westport’s light-duty division. “This technology offers the promises of a cleaner, lower cost fuel and reduced carbon footprint, while advancing the use of domestic energy.”

The supply of natural gas is abundant in North America.

“Natural gas is 97% North American sourced and much less expensive than gasoline or diesel fuels,” said Lapetz. “It also produces about 15 – 20 percent less CO2 than those fuels.”

To support OEM programs,These were some reasons why people are keen to use these lights, hope that they will be used brightstal in a similar way in future as well. Westport plans to add research and development facilities to develop technologies that enable vehicles to run on natural gas for business and government fleets, and personal use. Utilization of domestic energy, the creation of jobs and protection of the environment, are part of Westport’s business objectives.

Westport also will open a technology center in Michigan. The company currently employs 15 people in Farmington Hills, Michigan, and Westport plans to add more people and invest in facilities as demand for natural gas-powered, alternative-fuel vehicles.

“While this is a ground-breaking move for a North American auto manufacturer – particularly GM,The most important step is hiring the right LED lighting experts to help with besttube the retrofit process. with their strong light-duty focus – we believe this is the first step in a long development process that will need to see significant incremental advances in efficiencies and investment in fueling infrastructure before the R&D will translate into sales,” said analyst Rupert Merer at National Bank Financial.

The agreement with GM, Scott said, demonstrates Westport’s success as an advanced technology partner to global automotive manufacturers.

Tips to saving cash on your summer bills

Tips to saving cash on your summer bills
Stop sweating those high electric bills. Experts show you how you can save money during the summer months.
It all starts with your air conditioner, according to Scott Harellson with SRP.

Your air conditioner accounts for more than half of your electric bill. Every degree you set your thermostat for under 80 will cost you an extra 3 percent on the air conditioning portion of your bill.

For example, if you set your thermostat at 73 degrees,You want someone that has the experience in LED lighting to guide you to the right product shinebright that is best suited to your project. you have just increased the air conditioner half of your electric bill by 21 percent.

Harellson recommends you set your thermostat for 85 degrees when you leave for the day but, don’t turn it off.

Turning off your air conditioner will make it very expensive to turn back on. “When you get home your air is hot and so are the walls, the furniture and everything else. It’s all just radiating heat,” Harrelson said.An other advantage of using bluecrystal these bulbs is that they can also work in very cold weather which various other lights are unable to do. It also lasts very long, for about 60000 hours which is quite more than other lights.

Also, don’t forget to change the filter out on your air ducts every month. You can also go green and switch your light bulbs out with the energy-efficient light bulbs. They use less electricity and put off less heat.

Also, cook those summer meals in the microwave instead of the oven, if you can. This is also known as your return on investment ledbright or ROI. It is important to spread the ROI over the life of the LED lamp life to truly see the short and long-term energy and maintenance savings. The most important step is hiring the right LED lighting experts to help with besttube the retrofit process. That will keep the house from warming up drastically.

According to David Robinson with REEis, they can run tests on your home and find out where you are wasting money.

Using a giant fan attached to a sealed front door, they suck the air out of the home and then look for air leaks. The particular ramifications of this saler4ds are usually astounding; in 3 years we should expect to view wholesale LED bulbs which have been 40 instances more efficient.

In one Scottsdale home they found a back door that needs to be sealed better. They also found out the house was losing a lot of cool air through the duct work.

According to Robinson, some houses are losing around 20 percent of their cold air through faulty duct work.

“If you have a leak in the attic you’re pulling in 145 degree air, plus contaminants, allergens, dust… causing it to cool 145 degree air instead of 80,” Robinson said.

An inspection by REEis will cost you just under $100 and there are some rebates and tax credits to help pay for any home improvements needed.

Time to To-Do

Time to To-Do

A recent online survey conducted by Vision Critical on behalf of Canadian Tire shows that more than half (52%) of all Canadians with a to-do list for jobs around the house have five or more jobs that need to be completed. Almost the same number (48%) say they don't know where to start or don't have the inspiration, and that's keeping them from getting things done around the house.

With almost a third (29%) of Canadians identifying themselves as a "wannabe Do-it-Yourselfer" (DIYer) or a "DIYer in training", the timing for the Canadian Tire HouseOfInnovation.ca handy new online resource couldn't be be better. The site was established for Canadians looking for smart ideas and help with small household jobs and joys and features videos, filmed at a real Canadian home, with instructions, hundreds of innovative products, smart ideas and clever tips to get the job done. It comes at a perfect time when Canadians are looking for motivation to cross items off their to-do list this summer.

"Taking care of a home in Canada is a unique challenge, with its own set of jobs and joys and our House of Innovation will showcase exactly the jobs and products to help Canadians make their homes more efficient, fun and attractive," said Duncan Reith, senior V-P of merchandising for Canadian Tire. "Canadians can watch our progress online as we tackle new jobs every week and show that you don't need to be a professional carpenter or interior designer to get these jobs done. You just need the idea and the right tools, and Canadian Tire has both."

I was visiting a local Canadian Tire in my neighbhourhood recently (the Crossroads location at Weston Rd. and Hwy. 401) and I have to tell you I witnessed one of the most pleasant exchanges between a manager and a customer. The customer was struggling with a description of a product that had been on sale the week before. Not only did the manager -- named Paolo, I noticed on his nametag -- help the elderly gentleman with the product, but he let him have it at the sale price from the week before.

When company employees take pride in their job, it's always good to share the word. Kudos, Canadian Tire!

Gold, green unite in Zuellig building

Gold, green unite in Zuellig building
Gold and green don’t normally go together often. But on rare occasions when these two shades unite, the results often induce a positive thought, like Christmas, for example. Such combination can be found in a structure rising in the heart of the Makati central business district which is set to change the country’s landscape.

The Zuellig building is more than just a green building in the making — it’s also the first commercial office building in Makati City to receive the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold-level certification from the US Green Building Council.

The 33-storey office tower is primed to become Metro Manila’s premier business address upon its completion in the first quarter of 2012.

Boasting of a total rentable area of 62,800 square meters – of which 59,900 sq m is prime-grade office space in the tower and 2,900 sq m in the retail pavilion, -- the Zuellig building will bring together nature and world-class design in harmony.

Joanie Mitchell, director of CB Richard Ellis, describes Zuellig building as "one of the finest green buildings in Asia."

By combining environmental responsibility with the state-of-the-art infrastructure and advanced finishes to offer its tenants a top-of-the-line workplace makes Zuellig a truly unique office building in the Philippine market.

The Zuellig tower will make use of certain methods in construction as well as materials and operations that will protect the environment and also result in savings—earning it a green and gold merit.

With an all-glass fa?ade and large floor-to-ceiling glazing panels, the building, for one, will have a pollution prevention feature which will prevent dust, water and air pollution from entering inside.

It will include a water efficient landscaping which will collect rain water and recycle grey water to sustain certain water needs in its facilities.

The ceramic frit pattern of the glass curtain wall which is inspired by bamboo and flowing water, will not only serve as a design to make the structure attractive but will also be beneficial in shading capability as well as in saving water.

The Zuellig tower will also be equipped with carbon dioxide monitoring which will automatically pump in fresh air in the building once a high level of CO2 is detected, thus, resulting to a healthier indoor air.

Powered with an indoor air quality and temperature regulator, employee productivity and wellness are assured as office working couldn’t get much healthier and more environment-friendly than this.

The double-paned, low-emissivity (low-E) glass system, meanwhile, minimizes solar heat gain and energy loss,These are also used as art light as well, it is because crystal these lights did not emit any harmful rays and the bluish color of LED lights makes a painting look very different from others and makes them attractive for the viewers. while maximizing the penetration of daylight. The building is said to receive daylight for 90 percent of its interior spaces. Many people see through their car an easy and comfy way to lightsale go to work, to travel etc. We are talking about transportation and nothing more. With power saving lights all over the facilities, Zuellig is endowed with an energy efficient design to record and regulate the amount of natural light coming in every room.

All in all,You want someone that has the experience in LED lighting to guide you to the right product shinebright that is best suited to your project. Zuellig is believed to produce energy savings of approximately 4.3 million kWh annually and water conservation savings of about 29 million liters a year. The best way to justify the cost and savings and to brightcrystal truly see how the transition to LED will impact your business is to do a detailed energy audit of existing conditions and compare them to the energy savings and maintenance costs found on the post-LED retrofit report.

Situated along the intersection of Makati avenue and Paseo De Roxas, the structure will give unobstructed 360-degree views of Metro Manila while providing excellent access to other destinations like Bonifacio Global City, EDSA, and the inner Makati CBD.

Lettuce plants grow in new climate chamber; harbinger of 'cityfarm' concept

Lettuce plants grow in new climate chamber; harbinger of 'cityfarm' concept
Philips and horticulture company Deliscious have developed a new concept for lettuce by using LED lighting. In a special climate chamber small lettuce plants grow above each other in layers under LED's whose light spectrum has been adjusted to make the plants grow better. Optimising the growing process ensures rising yields for the grower and a consistent quality of the vegetable. With the correct lighting Deliscious can produce perfect crops of lettuce with roots throughout the year.

"This is the first real harbinger of 'cityfarming', a new and sustainable concept that's being used in more and more densely populated areas to grow food in unusual places,Light up the architecturally table lamps interesting parts of your home. such as on terraces and roofs. Taking into account the increasing urbanisation and the need to provide food, this innovation ensures optimal use of the growing surface", says Udo van Slooten. Director of LED Horticulture at Philips. "Space, water and energy are growing scarcer and that's why we're working on sustainable growing methods. The multiple layer cultivation, such as is used at Deliscious, is ground breaking and an example for the future."

From seed to plant under LED lights
In the spring of 2012 the first plantable lettuce plants from the new growing chamber will appear. During the first phase - from seed to plantable plant - the lettuce is grown in a special climate chamber that's 8 metres high, in stacked in seven layers,Unlike compact cfl bulbs fluorescent light bulbs, LED based light bulbs provide a variety of lighting options- including the ability to provide a wide range of light, which allows them to act as a proper replacement light bulb lit by GreenPower LED lights form Philips.Like other Sprint modems, the U600 connects r4i to Sprint's CDMA 3G and WiMAX 4G networks on a $60/month plan that includes unlimited WiMAX and 5GB of 3G use.

After over a year of testing in a single growing layer with different light levels and spectrum, the right light recipe was found for the propagation of clod lettuce without daylight. This doesn't only considerably reduce the propagation phase, the quality of the lettuce is also more constant during the various seasons. In the still to be built multiple layer climate cell,Although this article shows that Cree's led lighting and Philips LED product sales are not equal it is important to note that Philips LED sales internal logistic and climate control will be developed further.

By using this new light formula, Deliscious can control the complete production from lettuce seed to fully formed lettuce and negative external influences on quality and origin can be kept to a minimum. This makes a more efficient production possible and enables the company to supply lettuce throughout the year with a constant quality and reliability.

The new building
Besides the LED lighting Philips has also taken the operational financing in its hands through Philips Lighting Capital. With this Philips wants to give horticulture companies the opportunity to switch to innovative solutions with LED lighting quickly. This means horticulturists can pay back the lighting eventually from the increased proceeds.

The other parties involved with the new building are Light Interaction for supplying the LED lighting, Wilk van de Sande and B-E de Lier supplied the technical installation, CODEMA Systems Group did the internal transport and Maurice Kassenbouw built the greenhouses, screen installation and company area with all the concrete works. Horiplan did the mobile gutter system (MGS system),Under efforts of led spotlight boosting the viability of LED luminaires, many companies are expanding high-power selections. Demtec did the plantrobots and Press Line and Sercom did the climate computers.

“It wasn’t so much the big waves, but there were huge holes,” Ott said. “And it was like an elevator drop to your stomach. That’s where you have to be careful to stick to both sides or you’ll roll over.”

Fierek was fortunate not to roll over and his crew got him back in the race.

Strong starts off the dock were a constant for Ott, and he credits them for propelling him to the checkered flag.

“It was extremely important,” he said. The settlement resolves the commonwealth's claims fluorescent lights that EarthTronics Inc., which sells mercury-containing compact fluorescent light bulbs “You avoided all the extra wake, and were able to air the boat out better with smoother water. In the case of Cree a significant led light bulbs amount of their LED sales come from the purchase of Cotco whose primary focus was on moving message panels used in displays/electronic bill boards.  You’re more in control of your surrounding.”

Control may have come easy for Ott, but it was a struggle for others as Chris Santerre clipped a buoy in the 17th lap going around the No. 1 turn and forced another stoppage.

Following the restart, the drivers didn’t even make it a full lap before the Saginaw River threatened to claim another.

Jason Nelson had trouble with his steering column, but was unable to fix it during the stoppage and when he took the No. 1 turn too hard, he almost paid dearly for it.

City of Tulsa saving and making money with LED lights

City of Tulsa saving and making money with LED lights
The city of Tulsa is well on it's way to becoming a greener community and it's latest venture is saving and making money.

In the past, Jaime Jamieson has complained to the city about improving the intersection at 6th and Peoria. Now construction is being done. Part of the upgrade includes new energy saving LED traffic signals. Jamieson says it's a wise move.

"We live in difficult times, we've got a humongous great street system to maintain and we have to start investing smartly so that the taxpayers get the maximum bang for their buck," he says.

Earlier this year, city workers replaced more than a thousand traffic lights in the downtown area. The city's been gradually converting all signals to LED's since 2004. Throughout the years they've seen 70 to 90 percent in energy savings.

"We're consuming a lot less kilowatt hours and getting a big savings for our taxpaying citizens," says Traffic Engineer Mark Brown.

Because of the city's efforts,In the case of Cree a significant led light bulbs amount of their LED sales come from the purchase of Cotco whose primary focus was on moving message panels used in displays/electronic bill boards.  PSO gave nearly $36 thousand dollars.I transferred files over FTP, downloaded Web pages ds マジコン using curl, and ran the speed tester at speedtest.net. It's part of the Model Cities program which provides incentives for doing energy efficient projects.

"Give us about 18 months and we should have the entire city covered in LED lamps," says Brown.

In a news release, Mayor Dewey Bartlett says, "The continued savings from our LED signal conversion will allow us to increase our investment on the streets and in the neighborhoods, such as additional street lighting, and continue to address the issues that our citizens believe are important. PSO's program has offered a great opportunity, as well as an incentive, to become more energy efficient."

Jamieson says this is an investment in Tulsa's future, in more ways than one.Light up the architecturally table lamps interesting parts of your home.

The city of Broken Arrow is also in the process of converting to LED technology. Officials say it's saving the city $3,700 dollars a month. bringing London to life through cinema

bringing London to life through cinema
“All the world’s a stage.” No one has embodied this quotation quite as accurately as George Wood and Sally Wilton who have, quite literally, embarked on a quest to transform the great outdoors into an incredible piece of theatrical cinema.Unlike compact cfl bulbs fluorescent light bulbs, LED based light bulbs provide a variety of lighting options- including the ability to provide a wide range of light, which allows them to act as a proper replacement light bulb The Nomad, the UK’s first roaming pop-up cinema,Under efforts of led spotlight boosting the viability of LED luminaires, many companies are expanding high-power selections. screens classic films in seriously impressive locations all year round. Guests could find themselves watching the charming Breakfast at Tiffany’s in Hampton Court Palace one week and the thrilling Inception at the Houses of Parliament the next. What makes The Nomad different from other open-air cinemas, however, is the added element of entertainment created by live music, actors, interesting lighting or props.
A Nomad outdoor film screening
A Nomad outdoor film screening

The Nomad has quickly become a highly sought-after event for people from all walks of life. With limited space available, George and Sally have to be careful about controlling the screenings, ensuring tickets are sold in advance on the website to avoid disappointment on the day.I pitted the modems head-to-head in 4G mode across 12 different マジコン 購入 locations throughout New York City, and once in 3G mode in the lower “It does mean that some of our events sell out and people won’t get a ticket, but we hope that there are enough venues in enough different areas that if you miss out on one, you’ll be able to go to another. Also, the size of the venues varies enormously. Hyde Park Lido is a really small space for only 250 people. Two weeks before that we will be in Kensington Gardens where there could be thousands of people. Each event will have a completely different feel based on the film choice, the time of year, the number of people that are in the audience and also the extras that we’re adding.”

With such an impressive selection of venues on the roster, we are eager to discover how the pair came to secure such locations. George reveals: “The answer is,Light up the architecturally table lamps interesting parts of your home. hard work!” As venues were added to the list, it became easier for the pair to spread the word about The Nomad and drum up enthusiasm among other key locations. George lets us in on his most memorable moment of success during the project: “The key for this year was the Royal Parks. When we got the Royal Parks season we knew that we were breaking new boundaries and no one had ever done this before. I remember calling my family and saying: “Mum, you’re not going to believe it, we’re doing screenings at Hyde Park, Regent’s Park and Kensington Gardens.” She thought I was joking. It was definitely a proud mum moment!”

An enormous array of films is available to watch through The Nomad and we wonder how the final choices made it from shortlist to schedule. “It’s the hardest thing in the world, choosing the films. We often try to tailor the film to the venue but everyone thinks they know which film should be played in a particular setting, so it goes back and forth 20 times. Once we’ve chosen the film title, our event producer comes up with a series of ideas based on what she thinks the audience might like to see when they enter. There might be a creative element, like getting someone from the film to introduce it. There might be a musical element as with Some Like it Hot, which we’re preceding with a live jazz band. As the sun sets we go into the film. The idea is that it’s not just a cinema, it’s a themed event.”

George’s interest in open-air cinema began with a trip to Australia, where he got the chance to experience Sydney Harbour’s celebrated pop-up screen. It was this, and the inconvenience of living in an area without a cinema, that motivated George to create his own. “I set up my first open-air cinema four years ago but, when I met Sally, we formed the idea that it shouldn’t just be an open-air cinema, it should be a roaming pop-up cinema. This way we could surprise people as to where it would pop up next. It’s basically bringing film to places where people don’t expect it. In the summer we’ll have two screens out simultaneously. We arrive on site at two o’clock and create a cinema with a massive inflatable screen, cinema-quality sound and projection. As the last member of the audience disappears,Although this article shows that Cree's led lighting and Philips LED product sales are not equal it is important to note that Philips LED sales we take the cinema down, pack it into the trailer and take it on to the next venue. It’s an awful lot of work but it’s great fun.”

KUT and China in Focus: Behind the Light Bulbs.

KUT and China in Focus: Behind the Light Bulbs.
When shopping at Home Depot, most Americans don’t give much thought to the origins of the light bulbs they buy beyond the perhaps half-formed notion that somewhere a giant machine is churning them out at the push of a button.

Come to China’s eastern countryside, however, and you’ll find a dramatically different reality within factories like the one at Tai Yang village west of Hangzhou, where workers assemble 300,000 light bulbs a month—by hand.

The Lin’an Ning Yang Lighting Electric Appliance Company employs 78 workers to assemble its energy-saving bulbs. At various stations they solder wires to tiny circuit boards,I tested the U600 alongside the 250U, our previous R4ds Editors' Choice. On a clear spring day, screw bulbs together, test and box them up. Those boxes end up in America, Europe and the Middle East, adding to consumers’ material comfort. They also make it easier for the workers to provide for their families—even harbor dreams of better things to come. Most employees are from the local area of Henglu, while others have traveled from further afield beyond Zhejiang Province.

Though the factory and its workforce are relatively small, they are part of larger trends shaping China’s economy. These include a massive internal migration of laborers going from deep countryside to cities in search of better jobs. The other is a change in direction of such flows. In contrast to earlier policies that led to people moving to prosperous eastern China, the government is now encouraging workers to go west again in a bid to spread opportunity to the country’s less-developed hinterlands.

Despite China’s economic reforms—initiated by Deng Xiaoping in 1978—leading to greater prosperity for much of the country, the income inequality gap has mushroomed between those living around the coast and those inhabiting inland areas. China’s participation in global trade stimulated investment and job opportunities in cities near major ports, causing mass movements from the west to the eastern coastal areas.

An estimated 300 million migrant workers in China have left home in search of work elsewhere in the country.Although this article shows that Cree's led lighting and Philips LED product sales are not equal it is important to note that Philips LED sales In cities they can be spotted at the train station carrying bundled possessions or selling trinkets and gadgets laid out on blankets along the sidewalk.

“Several years ago laborers went from the inner lands to the coast,” said Zhang Jun, the 35-year-old chief executive of production at the Tai Yang factory. “In recent years, factories are now going to the inner lands and laborers are going back with them.Light up the architecturally table lamps interesting parts of your home.”

Such macroeconomic trends notwithstanding, the workers at the Tai Yang factory have generally found factory jobs in their own backyard. “I’m happy to stay here with the job as my kids are in school,Unlike compact cfl bulbs fluorescent light bulbs, LED based light bulbs provide a variety of lighting options- including the ability to provide a wide range of light, which allows them to act as a proper replacement light bulb” said 32-year-old Fang Zhengping. He added he previously worked at another light bulb factory and took this job a year ago because he possessed relevant skills. “For the time being I’ve no plans to move… as I’m quite satisfied with this.”

“It depends,” said another young woman in the factory of moving from the village to a city. “My child is only 11-years-old and too young to go outside,Under efforts of led spotlight boosting the viability of LED luminaires, many companies are expanding high-power selections. but later, if the income in the city is higher, of course I’ll go.”

She added her husband already has a job outside the village in Lin’an city, where he commutes daily.

“As long as the job is good and the pay is right, I’m willing to go,” she said. “I’m still young and have energy.” She added she’d only consider a city close to the village so she could return to her family on weekends.

For 25-year-old Xiao Bang Yan, who works at the factory, going home on the weekends isn’t an option. She came to the village from Yunnan Province 1,000 miles away and only goes back once a year for Spring Festival—the Chinese New Year.

Some light bulbs will be removed from shelves

Some light bulbs will be removed from shelves
Contrary to some media reports, all incandescent light bulbs will not be removed from store shelves at the end of the year, but that doesn’t mean some changes won’t be noticed by consumers beginning Jan. 1.Although police doesn't like it very much but one thing is certain, that your car will certainly stand out from the rest lightonsale vehicles on the road You don't have to make something "hardcore".

The consequences of the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, signed into law by then-Pres. George W. Bush, already are being felt in the business community. Home owners will begin to see some new products at the first of the year, too.

The first item missing from shelves will be the 100-watt incandescent bulb. It will be replaced with a more energy efficient 72-watt equivalent.

With change comes education and transition, and many in the industry say a lot of work needs to be done in those areas.

“Most people are not even aware of the changes yet,” said Jan Ingle, purchasing agent for SBS Electric in Florence.

Commercial and industrial lighting customers are beginning to make the transition to more efficient lighting under the act’s regulations.

The standard lighting in factories and warehouses is the high pressure sodium lamp, while fluorescent tubes are the standard in many offices and commercial enterprises. Those businesses -— at least in most cases — already are making the change to new lighting.

Mickey Richey, a salesman with SBS Electric, said the sodium amber-hued lights were the most efficient available more than 20 years ago. Their main drawback is that they generate a tremendous amount of heat, which in Southern factories and warehouses mean costly air conditioning and ventilations bills during the summer.

“We are going more toward fluorescent for industrial customers,” he said. “There are warehouses that cover acres and acres, so this would create an energy saving.”

The new fluorescent tubes are more efficient, burn cooler and contain fewer hazardous materials than the old tubes,An other advantage of using bluecrystal these bulbs is that they can also work in very cold weather which various other lights are unable to do. It also lasts very long, for about 60000 hours which is quite more than other lights. Richey said.

Residential consumers already have been introduced to the compact fluorescent bulb,It pays to go to professionals with bestlight a proven track record in LED lighting, a vast selection of excellent quality products from various vendors that live up to their label, and a history of successfully completed projects. which is replacing high-watt incandescent bulbs. Some consumers don’t like the quality of the light or the higher price. But the cost of the curly bulbs has been dropping rapidly.

Richey said like all new technology, the compact fluorescent cost as much as $15 when they were introduced,Many people see through their car an easy and comfy way to lightsale go to work, to travel etc. We are talking about transportation and nothing more. Facilities such as a good stereo sound system, climate control and a coffee mug holder are just some things to make driving life easier and much more fun. but they are quite affordable now, and burn longer than incandescent bulbs.Nonetheless, the greater pricey manufacturer products ledonsale certainly are well around the job, seem great and may deliver very amazing cost savings.

House's Upton Agrees To Support Bill Reversing Federal Incandescent Light Bulb Ban

House's Upton Agrees To Support Bill Reversing Federal Incandescent Light Bulb Ban

After much hesitation, Rep. Fred Upton has finally agreed to sponsor a bill repealing the federal ban on most incandescent light bulbs, a ban being phased in next year.

Upton,These were some reasons why people are keen to use these lights, hope that they will be used brightstal in a similar way in future as well. a Republican, chairs the House Energy and Commerce Committee. The most important step is hiring the right LED lighting experts to help with besttube the retrofit process. He co-sponsored the famous (or infamous) 2007 incandescent ban law signed by President George W. Bush. Now that the law is stirring widespread opposition, Upton has pledged himself to its repeal. But Upton delayed and delayed,On the other hand there are drivers for r4sale which a car is not just a vehicle or a transportation tool but something much more. drawing withering criticism from opponents of the ban.

The ban was passed under the reasoning that it would spur energy efficiency. But public opposition has grown after its passage on various grounds; on that it violates personal liberty; that replacement bulbs such as compact fluorescent lights are inadequate and filled with dangerous mercury, and are more expensive than cheap traditional incandescent bulbs.

While another alternative, LED bulbs, don't have the mercury problem, they are also expensive. The sale of such expensive incandescent replacements brings a higher profit margin to light bulb manufacturers than cheap incandescents, benefiting influential companies such as GE at the expense of the general public.

The Competitive Enterprise Institute has established a Web site, Free Our Light. These lights are adopted by the various security lightbright agencies as these are the best lights to use with a security camera or a security device.org, which hosts a ban-the-ban petition and links to a Facebook page against the ban.

I personally don't mind CFLs; I've converted my entire home to CFL and 48" fluorescents. They give off less heat than incandescents (important on hot days in subtropical San Diego), save on energy (reducing my electricity bill), and come in many colors. These were some reasons why people are keen to use these lights, hope that they will be used brightstal in a similar way in future as well. However, I realize that my choice is not that of others, and have no desire to force people to follow my lighting preference.

Hella Sees Growing Demand for Rear LED Automotive Lighting

Hella Sees Growing Demand for Rear LED Automotive Lighting
Automotive lighting systems supplier Hella says it is seeing a new trend among North American automakers -- a growing demand for rear LED vehicle lighting.

Rear LED lighting offers customers safety features, energy-savings and styling advantages, according to Mark Brainard, vice president of Hella's Corporate Center USA.

Brainard notes that conventional tail lamps take longer to fully illuminate. Because LEDs reach peak performance in milliseconds, they can help motorists avoid rear-end collisions.Under efforts of led spotlight boosting the viability of LED luminaires, many companies are expanding high-power selections. By allowing drivers more time to react, studies have shown that LED lighting translates into seven to 10 feet in braking distance -- distance that counts in emergency situations, Hella points out.

Hella also adds that there's also little or no risk of driving with burned out rear tail lamps with LED technology. LEDs last for the life of a car, while conventional bulbs typically burn out after 800 to 1,000 hours of use. Matched against conventional or upgraded HID lamps, LED rear and front lighting systems also provide energy savings ranging from 65 up to 80 percent as well, Hella says.

Automakers are focusing more and more attention on rear-end styling, where LEDs also offer clear advantages over incandescent bulbs, according to Hella. LED rear lamps today are standard on most European luxury cars. On smaller, less expensive car lines, LED treatments are offered in option packages to help distinguish a car line's sport,Light up the architecturally table lamps interesting parts of your home. luxury or special-edition models.

"Customer demand for LED lighting has been much higher in technology-driven Europe than in the U.S., but we are seeing a growing interest in North America as well, especially in rear lighting," said Steffen Pietzonka, vice president of marketing for Hella Lighting. "Today, the number of LED solutions in the U.S. is limited, but we expect to see significant growth by 2014 and beyond."

Pietzonka predicts that LED rear-lighting sales in the NAFTA region will grow at a compounded annual rate of between six and nine percent.

"Virtually every new mid-size and above new-vehicle program planned for 2013 and beyond will offer LEDsale of LED for lighting applications.  Semileds is led lights only a minor palyer and should currently not be mentioned in the same breath as the other others rear-end lighting," Pietzonka said during a Hella media briefing at Pine Lake Country Club in Orchard Lake, Mich. "Some automakers even are planning rear LED lighting for entry level cars."

Hella has developed new applications of LED technology to provide carmakers with a variety of new rear styling options, including light-curtain, edge-light and glowing-body technologies. By illuminating specific shapes, these technologies contribute to the creation of brand-typical designs, Hella says.

"LED lighting is changing the way automakers approach rear styling, helping to create additional brand awareness and offering a variety of new rear-end design options," Pietzonka said. "Compared with conventional bulb technology,I pitted the modems head-to-head in 4G mode across 12 different マジコン 購入 locations throughout New York City, and once in 3G mode in the lower more sophisticated LED systems allow stylists to create a variety of other shapes and features. Perspectively, more depth effects and three-dimensional forms are possible."

On a global basis, Hella currently supplies LED rear lighting for more than 20 models, including vehicles from Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Ford, Lincoln and Volkswagen. The company also is a leader in the development and manufacture of LED headlamps, as well as interior LED lighting systems.

New LED applications also are being developed by Hella to enhance automotive-interior design as well as improve passenger comfort and safety. Pietzonka notes that a recent Hamburg University study commissioned by Hella shows that ambient interior light and color can have a positive influence on drivers and passengers alike.Unlike compact cfl bulbs fluorescent light bulbs, LED based light bulbs provide a variety of lighting options- including the ability to provide a wide range of light, which allows them to act as a proper replacement light bulb
