Smarthome, the home automation superstore, announced today that it is offering the SYLVANIA/Artison MusicLites wireless audio and dimmable LED lighting kit.
The MusicLites multi-zone, high-fidelity speaker and LED light is the first of its kind; homeowners can enjoy whole home audio distribution and lighting control without the expense of a traditional hard-wired installation. The MusicLite has a unique design that blends premium sound with a dimmable LED light bulb that fits securely into a standard recessed lighting can in the home.

Each speaker/bulb weighs less than two pounds and is easy to install. There is no hard-wiring involved, and they are easy to remove if homeowners decide to relocate. Music is transmitted via proprietary 2.4 GHz wireless communication from a USB, Toslink or iPod/iPhone/iPad transmitter (each available separately) to the speaker. The USB transmitter may be used with most PC or Mac computers, the Toslink transmitter with most audio receivers or amplifiers, and the iPod/iPhone/iPad transmitter for most Apple products.

When the MusicLites speakers/bulbs are used in a can light application, matching 4-inch, 5-inch and 6-inch trim rings are available for purchase to complete a professional finish to the installation.
