Legendary San Jose cardroom gets a high-tech makeover

The new club will open in February, but anticipation already is building among the poker and pai gow players who frequent Garden City, an aging mountain-chalet style casino that has been a fixture on Saratoga Avenue since the 1970s.
"Everyone's stoked about it," said David Ngo, 26, as he took a smoke break this week outside the club. "Everyone's waiting to see it. It's supposed to be really big, a huge upgrade from what they have here."
